In my personal and professional experience, finding the right therapist is an intimate experience. For instance, some of us prefer a direct approach while others may appreciate a gentler disposition. Neither is right or wrong, but only a personal preference that allows us to be our truest selves with another person in the room. Other things to consider might be the specific experience or training a professional has with the presenting problem you are coping with, or availability to meet your scheduling needs. It is so important to feel that you are with the right person on your journey as you grow and challenge yourself.
